The first step into unleashing your potential is to recognize and acknowledge what your potential is! you need to start to get to know yourself and start to understand your strengths and weaknesses. One must always be aware of his or her abilities, knowing your strengths will put you in a position of control and will make you aware of your area of expertise.
This will increase your self-esteem and will also help you to move forward. It’s important not to be too hard on yourself about your weaknesses, remember nobody is perfect and this is your opportunity to work on them.
Write your strengths and weaknesses down this will make it easier for you to organize your thoughts and to “step by step” achieve your goals. Here I’m going to list some basic strategies to use that has worked for me and will help you reach your full potential.
Setting small goals in order to achieve bigger results
For you to start achieving your goals you need to start taking those baby steps. Start by setting small goals for yourself this will put you on the right path to success.
Lao Tzu once said, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” every little step helps! each goal you set for yourself daily will lead you to achieving your ultimate desires. For example if your ultimate goal is to get into university make a list of small goals you will need to do that will help you achieve that. Whether it’s taking another course that would give you the equivalent credits or having someone help you with the application process.
Either way this is what I mean by setting small goals that will get you to your destination. Your ultimate wish could be to become a musician but what’s it going to take for you to get there? You must learn to take the necessary steps to achieving big results.
This will boost your motivation and self-esteem because each time you achieve those small goals, you’re going to feel great! and it will ultimately keep pushing you to achieving your desires.
Do not limit your potential
Don’t limit your potential “remember the sky is the limit” dream higher to achieve bigger. Tear down any walls that limits your potential especially fear, fear will have you believing you’re not capable of doing anything without even trying, put those beliefs to rest and remember “it takes real courage and confidence to unleash your full potential.”
Who we also associate ourselves with is very important, surround yourself with people who will push and inspire you to do better. You need to be around ambitious people with big dreams not individuals who don’t want to get anywhere in life “true potential can easily be attained when you are surrounded by inspiring and positive people.” Think of yourself as a person with no limits and erase everything else that tells you anything different.
Embracing those uncomfortable situations
Let’s start to embrace those uncomfortable situations, life is not always going to give you pleasant experiences and I find the more we thrive in that uneasiness the more tolerable it’s going to become and make it easier for us to adapt and actually tackle it.
I remember the anxiety I had when I was studying, I found the more reluctant I was about doing the work because of my own disbeliefs the more I put it off. Train your mind to thrive in those challenging situations this is a good strategy to use if you want to tackle your insecurities and get you out of your comfort zone.
This will help you unleash your full potential and develop a new technique whilst growing and becoming more disciplined. Taking risks and moving out of your comfort zone is an important aspect of releasing your potential, you will not be able to get anywhere in life if you’re not willing to take risks.
Nobody ever got anywhere without taking risks and there is really no downfalls when doing so because even if you fail you will still have the experience which you can learn from and then later use to your advantage. This will also give you the strength and the confidence to help you grow as an individual.
Letting go of bitterness and learning to be more grateful
Letting go of bitterness and learning to be more grateful is a necessity to bring out your potential because you can’t expect to hold onto resentment whilst still trying to release your inner best qualities.
As Malachy McCourt stated “resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die” so it makes absolutely no sense to hold onto negativity.
Gratitude is such a powerful force and it is a key element to success and happiness, you must learn to be grateful even for the small things in life otherwise you will never be happy when you get the big things, it’s as simple as that.
Being more open to gratitude and turning that into a daily positive habit will enable you to achieve great things in your life and even help your relationships with other people. You will be more happier and humble which will initially put you on a positive frequency that will then trigger manifesting more abundance and blessings.
