Finding Inner Peace And Happiness

Do you feel insecure, at times doubtful, as if everyone around you is having an easier time of things than you are? “well I understand completely” we have all felt overwhelmed, discouraged and have needed a little guidance.

Let’s be completely honest the relationship you have with yourself is probably the most important relationship you are ever going to have ”why”? because you are going to spend the rest of your life with yourself, wherever you go there you are. There is no getting away from you, it’s not negotiable, so the sooner you come to terms with yourself the better, self-acceptance is the key.

I’m going to list 10 important facts to practice daily to help you find inner peace and happiness. It’s time to start that journey of making peace with yourself and achieving a healthy lifestyle. Sticking to being happy should be a goal of yours and a decision.

Make the decision to be happy and then fight for your happiness! ” you certainly deserve it.” Enjoy yourself, go out and have a cup of coffee with yourself, or a bite to eat with you,” hey you need to enjoy your own company and start to love it.”

Self-Love

Self-love, self-confidence, self-belief, self-respect, self-worth; there is a reason why they all start with self – unknown

I cannot stress enough how important self-love is, I believe everything starts with ourselves. How we feel about ourselves, how we treat ourselves has an impact on how society will treat us.

Think of society like a mirror reflecting back to you on how you treat yourself. If you are good to yourself, and present self-love and care, people will reciprocate that back to you. Be your own cheerleader! pat your own back! do not give that responsibility to someone else. Write a list of things you like about yourself and read it daily.

Forgive easily

Forgiveness is a beautiful thing, it’s important to understand that forgiveness is not just about the other person but more importantly for you. Harboring onto, pain, bitterness and resentment is only going to lead to a life of unhappiness.

And being able to forgive easily does not mean you should excuse bad behavior, absolutely not!!! It just means you need to let go of that hurt and pain for your own sanity. I am not at all implying you should give second or third chances to people who have abused you and treated you badly.

I am merely saying in order to move forward you need to let go. You certainly can forgive a person and no longer choose to have them in your life. I have never met a person who has had unforgiveness in their heart who has genuinely been happy, an unforgiving person is an unhappy person, it’s that simple.

 Being truthful with yourself

Being truthful with yourself means to be realistic, not living in an illusion, honesty is a necessity for personal development and self-improvement. We need to be truthful with ourselves in order to move forward no matter how hard it is to face the truth because in the long run it’s always better than living a lie.

It’s important to see things for how it really is rather than someone else’s interpretation of the truth. Someone else’s opinion is just that” only an opinion” and it should not define your reality.

I’m asking you to be honest with yourself, not judgmental or unkind. Doing daily positive affirmations will help because your intentions should only be to uplift yourself and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Taking notes is always helpful at monitoring your feelings and your thinking, I suggest starting a journal because that would also help you to reflect back and will also give you a chance to see how far you have come.

Taking the time to reflect is an important aspect of being truthful with yourself. Studies have shown, reflection plays a role in learning and problem solving, when we take the time to reflect on our day, we give ourselves the ability to analyze the events and that makes it easier to learn.

Stop caring about what others think

The reality is you can’t please everyone and why would you even want to? It’s exhausting and it will drain you in every way. Ever heard of the phrase” other people’s opinions are none of your business?” or here’s another one” other people’s opinions are a really shitty way to determine how to feel about ourselves” well it’s all true and completely insane and it needs to stop!!. Your life is your own and it’s precious, the more you care about what others think the more power you give them over you and your life.

Find a reason to laugh every single day

Laughing is so important; you need to find a reason to laugh every single day. Laughter is healing for the soul, if you really want to find happiness, you need to learn to laugh.

Find a reason to laugh everyday whether it’s watching a funny movie or hanging out with friends that make you laugh do this daily and you will see the difference in yourself and in your life.

Who doesn’t want to feel good everyday? everybody does right? Well now you can. I personally make it my mission to laugh everyday, I find things online all the time that makes me laugh, constantly watching comedy” hey it makes me feel good” and that’s my ultimate goal is to feel good.

Let go of perfectionism

You’re not perfect, nobody is, period!! So, let go of this unrealistic illusion you have about being perfect and having everything around you needing to be perfect. I’m not implying you should have low standards, I’m just saying they need to be realistic ones, because if it’s not then in the long run it can be destructive.

You are always worthy just remember that, your worth is not based on” how perfect you are” it’s better to strive for excellence, rather that perfection.

I find that it can even project symptoms of procrastination, because putting tasks of is the perfectionist way of protecting him or herself from underlying fear that the task will not be completed perfectly. When something isn’t done according to their standards, the perfectionist will become overly critical of themselves and that will affect and damage their self-esteem.

Practice Gratitude

Gratitude is wonderful, I believe people who practice gratitude daily ultimately leads them to happiness and humility. I think gratitude makes you a better person, nobody likes anyone who is spoilt and ungrateful!! It is a fact that people who take the time to practice gratitude daily experience more positive emotions and express more passion and kindness.

Once you take the time to reflect on the things you’re grateful for, it will open your eyes and you will start to see the world in a different but better way.

The benefits of practicing gratitude are endless, ”you feel great, which is really our goal here right?” and there’s no need to reserve gratitude for special occasions, you can find something to be grateful for everyday, like being able to get out of bed healthy every morning or the fact that you have clean water to drink. There is always lots to be grateful for.

Become more spiritual

It is absolutely incredible how much we can learn about ourselves in prayer and in meditation. Our bodies are spirit just as much as flesh and to deny our spiritual side would mean we are denying apart of ourselves. By not tapping into that part of ourselves means we wouldn’t be using our full potential.

One of the most beautiful aspects of spirituality is that it can be experienced differently by everyone. For some people, spirituality is a devotion to religious faith, others seek out a more personal connection with their spiritual side by engaging in activities such as yoga, meditation, spending time in nature or creative expression.

The ultimate path to spirituality is rewarding and will bring you peace and harmony. The first step is to acknowledge that you are a spiritual being.

Motivation

Motivation is a powerful word, this word has the ability to determine your future, but it all depends on if you apply it daily in your life.

Motivation is the way to push people to take action into accomplishing their goals. It doesn’t matter what your desire is whether it’s money or success, without motivation giving you that drive and push causing you to act, your dreams will only remain a dream and not a reality.

We live in a competitive world and having motivation will certainly give you the upper hand. Behind every successful male or female lies motivation and discipline. So how do you get motivated? There are a number of ways in tough times that will help you get motivated.

There are numerous motivational stories, videos, speakers online especially on YouTube. I always find them useful when I lack motivation and just don’t feel like doing anything, I can easily get on YouTube and just find something that will inspire me and give me the drive to get things done. “Commit Publicly” this is also a good strategy! because none of us like to look bad in front of people, we will go out of our way to accomplish our goals if we’ve said it publicly.

This doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve got to display it on Facebook but alternatively if you’ve told important people in your life like your family or friends then you can always use your loved ones as your motivation to achieving your desires.

Healing and letting go

Healing and letting go of everything that doesn’t serve you is definitely the best and healthiest way to move forward. This is a great way to claim ownership and gain full control of your life. Healing is the process of the restoration of health to an unbalanced, diseased or damaged body.

The ability to become sound or healthy again is the healing process. Internal pain is one of the most aggravating, overwhelming experiences anyone can have. We have all experienced pain in various forms, whether it’s physical, emotional, psychological and it has ultimately left us damaged and wounded.

My main goal here is to talk about emotional hindrances such as stress, pressure, fears and false beliefs. But really anything you can think of that is holding you back and you need healing from is what you can work on.
